Responsibilities

- Daily Tasks:
– Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information - – Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
- – Perform bookkeeping, make bank deposits, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, and others

- Financial Reporting:
– Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance - – Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
- – Support month-end and year-end close processes

- Tax Preparation:
– Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns - – Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns

- Account Reconciliation:
– Reconcile bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks - – Reconcile customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
- – Verify and reconcile contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions

- Team Collaboration:
– Collaborate with financial staff and management to generate budgets, reports, and prepare for audits - – Support other team members with tasks to complete projects

- Project Ownership:
– Take ownership of specific number-crunching projects or accounting process improvements - – Provide recommendations to improve systems and efficiency

- Role-specific Duties:
– Utilize database software to organize financial account information - – Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
- – Learn how to use all necessary accounting software and payroll services
