Job Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with 2+ years of experience in financial accounting. The role involves handling tax preparation, financial reporting, bookkeeping, and account reconciliation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must. This full-time position requires a diligent professional who can manage financial processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and deliver accurate reports. Responsibilities

  • Daily Tasks:
    – Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • – Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
  • – Perform bookkeeping, make bank deposits, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, and others

  • Financial Reporting:
    – Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
  • – Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
  • – Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Tax Preparation:
    – Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns
  • – Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns

  • Account Reconciliation:
    – Reconcile bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
  • – Reconcile customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
  • – Verify and reconcile contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions

  • Team Collaboration:
    – Collaborate with financial staff and management to generate budgets, reports, and prepare for audits
  • – Support other team members with tasks to complete projects

  • Project Ownership:
    – Take ownership of specific number-crunching projects or accounting process improvements
  • – Provide recommendations to improve systems and efficiency

    – Utilize database software to organize financial account information
  • – Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • – Learn how to use all necessary accounting software and payroll services
